Back to Knitting

I haven't knitted in months, so there's nothing like starting big, right?  Know that bee blanket Eric wanted me to try that means me learning 4 new techniques?

Started it last night!

This is going to take a loooooooooooooooong time.

Artist Spotlight: Part Ninety

I think it might be faster to tell you what Rhonda of Lil' Bit Sassy doesn't make.  But I'll try to tell you what this creative woman from northwestern PA does make.  After that, you'll just have to visit her shop and blog to see what I missed.

So... dog coats, book covers, iPad cases,

cupcake toppers, bibs, and burp cloths,

dolls, teddy bears, and cuddle buddy blankets,

luggage tags and heating/cooling packs (the packs I can vouch for; I bought one for a friend and it was great!),

and last, but definitely not least, hair accessories and superhero capes!

Sassy, indeed!

Artist Spotlight: Part Seventy-Nine

You've met this artist here before, Dee Bibb of Southern Country Creations.

When last we met Dee, I showed you some of the bracelets created by this teacher of the gifted & talented and book reviewer, and one pair of her earrings.  Well, she's been busy since then!

She's got some more bracelets I just love.

And some more earrings.

And on top of that, she's got some really pretty jewelry sets!

In the interim, though, she's also added some of her crocheted items to her shop, like these gorgeous and cheery coaster sets.

And this beautiful coverlet.

Awesome stuff, right?  To keep up with her and see more, be sure to "like" her Facebook page, check out her blog, and follow her on Twitter.

Artist Spotlight: Part Sixty-Nine

You've met this week's artist before, here, here, and here, but it's been quite a while, so let's see what Sandi's been up to over at iKnitQuiltSew!

Well, when she's not off with her husband in some remote high-mountain meadow trying to catch dinner in one of the many streams, creeks, or ponds near where they live in Utah, she's been busy!

Still knitting... headbands, cowls, booties, infant hats, receiving blankets, and a new line of wash/discloths...

Still sewing her amazing dolls, bears, and now pincushions!

And still quilting... for kids and now for adults too!  I love the amazing wall hanging that would be so great over the couch in a living room.

Be sure to keep up with her on her blog too.

Artist Spotlight: Part Forty-Eight

You've met Gina Dahl here before, and I mentioned her again when she was my Handmade Artists Forum Secret Santa.  Owner of a Dahlish Knits Etsy shop, and a Dahlish Knits Handmade Artists Shop, her work is just so cute!

An avid reader and pianist who lives in North Dakota, there's nothing she enjoys more than curling up on the couch with some good music and a knitting project in hand... like this great baby blanket.

Or these wonderful stuffed animals, available in her Etsy or HAF shops:

 Caterpillar

Mouse

My favorite, though, isn't in the store yet, though it should be coming soon.  Check out these adorable baby booties!

Gina's just a nice person in general.  When she's not playing Legos with her kids or enjoying a peaceful walk with her dog, she's often making stuff for the kiddos, like this adorable owl.

Or this great tunic.

Or her new hobby, cross stitch, which resulted in these pictures to hang in her daughter's room.

And when it's not for the kids, Gina's making some for her friends too.

And then oooooooonce in a while, you'll catch her making something that's actually for herself!

To read about Gina, her knitting and other projects, her time with her kids, her book reviews, and a ton of other stuff, be sure to follow her blog.

Artist Spotlight: Parts Thirty-Two and Thirty-Three

I got incredibly busy last week and didn't get a chance to post the artist spotlight, so this week you get two, you lucky dogs!  Our first artist is one you've met on this blog before, Twiddletoes!  So what's she been doing since last May?

How about convertible mitts?!

And slippers?

And hats?

And of course her traditional and tabi socks, which can be found in her Etsy shop, her Cargoh shop, and on her website.

For news?  The blog.

Our second artist this week is another sort of knitter, one you haven't met here before, Gina Dahl of Dahlish.   A creative force, Gina has a huge passion for knitting and creating.  For her, there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with some good music and a knitting project.

She doesn't stop there, of course.  She also loves to play the piano, build things with her kids, and take the dog for walks.

So... what makes her different?  Well, if you check out her Etsy shop, you'll see that she sells knitted dolls!

And puppets!

Clutch toys!

And character or animal blankets, like this giraffe and dragon!

But if you want to really get to know her, you'll read her blog.  It's there that she'll tell you about her kids, her dog, her cooking, and other things she's knitting, like these really cute ornaments.

And this pretty sweater.

I have a question.  What can't she do?
