Artist Spotlight: Part Ninety-Six

You've met Pam of A Bead Thing once here before, but I'm going to show you some of the new and gorgeous things in her shop.

And what you definitely haven't seen here before is that she crochets!  How cute is this hat?

Or this flower necklace?  I love the idea of crocheted jewelry.

To keep up with Pam, find her on Google + or on Facebook.

Artist Spotlight: Part Ninety-Two

You've met this South Carolina geologist-lapidary-jeweler here before, John Rasmussen, who together with his wife Deboarah Lee creates the wonderful pieces you'll find at Rasmussen Gems & Jewelry, so I'll get straight to the good stuff...

And to learn more about John and Deborah, check out the blog, of course.

Artist Spotlight: Part Eighty-Six

This week I've got someone you've never met here before, Pam from A Bead Thing.  Now, I've been hanging out in the handmade world for quite a while; even before starting Reef Botanicals, I was a fan of craft shows, but I've never seen anything like this.  Pam's work is really unique and beautiful.

This great mom and doting grandmother who lives in Florida had the guts to give up her day job as a realtor and get full time into crafting, a pastime she's enjoyed all her life.  She now has a shop at Handmade Artists, where you can see her absolutely gorgeous jewelry.

She's got a style and technique, I've never seen anywhere else, but she's not averse to sharing it, as she teaches jewelry-making classes down in the Daytona Beach area.

She also does home shows within a 50 mile radius of Port Orange, FL.  How much cooler is this than Lia Sophia or Cookie Lee?  I can ID those brands of jewelry from across the room.  But if you're wearing A Bead Thing, you'll be wearing a one-of-a-kind conversation starter!

Interesting thing... I've showcased so many artists here who got started when their parents or grandparents got them involved in creating.  Well, Pam joined the artisan ranks by watching her daughter play around with beads instead!

And personally, I think it's a good thing she did!

Keep up with her on Twitter, Facebook, or her blog.

Artist Spotlight: Part Seventy-Nine

You've met this artist here before, Dee Bibb of Southern Country Creations.

When last we met Dee, I showed you some of the bracelets created by this teacher of the gifted & talented and book reviewer, and one pair of her earrings.  Well, she's been busy since then!

She's got some more bracelets I just love.

And some more earrings.

And on top of that, she's got some really pretty jewelry sets!

In the interim, though, she's also added some of her crocheted items to her shop, like these gorgeous and cheery coaster sets.

And this beautiful coverlet.

Awesome stuff, right?  To keep up with her and see more, be sure to "like" her Facebook page, check out her blog, and follow her on Twitter.

Artist Spotlight: Part Seventy-Seven

This artist is new to this blog, the force behind Nancy's Wild Wire Art.  Hailing from southern Illinois, she's passionate about copper, sterling silver, and gemstones... and it shows.  This chick's got an enviable style that's all her own, and I'm not surprised that the pieces are conceived in her dreams. What does surprise me is that she makes them in a tiny basement studio with a minimum of equipment.  The heart she throws into every piece is wholly evident.

Oh, and by the way?  She does custom work too!

Artist Spotlight: Part Seventy-Six

I've got a new one for you this time, Dee, of Southern Country Creations!  A teacher by day, she's been crafty since her youth, and you can tell.  The rest of us are really lucky that she recently decided to start making her creations available for sale!

She uses a ton of different methods and mediums, including crochet thread, beads, metal, wood, buttons, glass, gemstones, suede and leather.  Know what that means?  You could own several of her items and never look like you're wearing the same thing!
